UMD Price Drop Leads to Sale Surge
By: Aalaap Ghag   |   Sep 08, 2006
Many studios have been considering dropping UMD licensing and even shops like Wal-Mart have considered not stocking them, due to below par sales - the price of the UMDs obviously being the prime reason.

Someone managed to figure this out and put UMDs for sale in Japan. Now, the UMDs that once cost $14 to $40 have been selling like hot cakes once the price was dropped to under $9, proving that the tried and trusted formula still works: lower prices = higher sales. If games were cheaper in India (not Rs 2000 bucks and higher), they would sell a whole lot more.
