In an embarrassing incident for Google, the official Google blog was hacked a few days after a post on how Google takes security seriously, appeared on it. The hacker posted an anonymous message on the blog, saying that Google's Click to Call project has been called off, which followed Google's security post, about anti- phishing extension in the Google Toolbar and warnings about internet malware.
Google has now posted another message informing visitors about the hacker’s message. Google’s post says:
"A bug in Blogger, enabled an unauthorized user to make a fake post on the Google Blog last night, claiming that we've discontinued our AdWords click-to-call test. The bug was fixed quickly and the post removed. As for the click-to-call test, it is progressing on schedule, and we're pleased with the results thus far."
Google’s Click to call project, which promises to link search engine users to advertisers via telephone, is being beta tested in many countries, including Australia and UK.
