Well it looks like Microsoft finally woke up to this fact and realized how annoying the preview software was. They've finally gotten around to releasing an upgrade to the desktop search program. The new version now not only has a decent UI, but comes with the Windows Deskbar too. Not only that it can now successfully index all kinds of file types without issues and that too without the need for Office 2007 being installed.
For all of you people who were as annoyed as I was with the desktop search and want to quickly get past that, grab your updated copy here.
