AOL is reportedly all set to enter the Indian market on November 15. Having a subscription-based revenue-model AOL never really focussed on the Indian market in spite of having a customer service and customer analysis center in Bangalore. The company has recently launched a free service on September 12.
According to reports, AOL's European venture has not really taken off the way it was supposed to and the European operations could be hived off and sold.
A source said that the Indian venture will take on the domestic biggies like Rediff, Indiatimes, and other international players like MSN and Yahoo and apart from India the company will target newer markets like Japan, China, Korea.
