Apple, NBC Agree to Disagree
By: Shashwat Singh   |   Sep 01,2007
Here's another blow to those of us trying to walk that thin line between staying on the legal end of things and giving in to the temptation of P2P sharing.

Apple and NBC have called off their partnership on selling popular NBC shows, viz. Heroes, Battlestar Galactica, The Office, etc. on iTunes. So that means, no more iPod-ready episodes - to buy, that is... Of course one can easily get iPod ready episodes of those, and much more, from sites we can't mention and for prices we can't say (psst... free!).

This can be a serious blow iTunes' popularity as far as video downloads go. Microsoft and now the newly launched Nokia service are competition. For now, iTunes holds a 76% market share, but that will change, soon.

What I find hard to understand is how these companies can be so troubled about all this when this is just a minor percentage of the media downloads on the internet. I say the greed for more money will lead to the end of the human species... But I have been known to be wrong on previous occasions too.

More dirt on the story here.
