Google has released a new extension for Mozilla Firefox that synchronizes browser settings across multiple computers. This tool will allow users to store Firefox browser settings, bookmarks, search history, saved passwords and cookies in their Google account and access those settings on any computer.
The Google browser sync also recalls tabs and windows opened on Firefox and works on Firefox 1.5 as well as newer versions on any computer that supports the browser. However, Google has warned that since the tool updates settings each time it is launched, the browser will take longer to open.
The free tool is exclusively for Firefox and does not work with Internet Explorer. The launch comes at a time when Google's competitor released its new version, My web 2.0 with similar functions.
