Pure Networks, home networking software provider, has announced the availability of Network Magic 4.1 — which adds an Internet monitoring feature giving parents a detailed report of their child's whereabouts online, a personalized home network advisor, and support for Windows Vista.
Network Magic provides a daily email report detailing a child's and other family members' Internet use and enables easy printer and file sharing across the Windows Vista, XP, and Mac OS operating systems. "Network Magic is your in-home IT consultant — not only can you easily connect all your computers, and share files and printers — now with version 4.1 you can monitor your family's Internet use and keep your kids safe online," said Jeff Erwin, CEO Pure Networks. "In fact, Network Magic is the only home networking software that provides a daily email report detailing your child's and other family members' Internet use."
Network Magic 4.1 offers two new features — the family-friendly Network Reports and Network Magic Advisor.
Network Reports gives parents an easy way to monitor Internet use and know where their child goes online. When a user opts-in to this feature, they are sent a daily report showing hour-by-hour Internet and bandwidth use, as well as Web sites visited and any software applications used the previous day. This report is formatted and delivered in such a way that the average parent can understand what is happening and whether or not their family is at risk.
Network Magic Advisor is an intuitive feature that guides the user through the complexity of managing a home network by making personalized recommendations on how to use their devices, find appropriate compatible devices, and gives advice on product upgrades.
The free 30-day trial version of Network Magic 4.1 is available at www.networkmagic.com . Network Magic 4.1 Premium, which includes unlimited printer sharing, file sharing, Network Reports and more is available for $29.99 and can be used on up to 3 computers. For consumers with more than 3 home computers, Network Magic versions for use on up to 5 and 8 computers are also available.
