The world's largest memory maker Samsung is all set to introduce 8 GB NAND Flash memory chips this quarter. To be manufactured in the 60 NM process the 8 GB's smaller circuits have enabled the company to vertically stack two 4 GB packages.
This now strengths the belief that Apple could ship an 8 GB IPod Nano in the not too distant future based on the new chip .The 8 GB memory technology will also be used to develop more storage space for cellphones. However, space constraints limit the expected capacity to a 2 GB chip for now.
