xplore n' shop, touted as 'The Total Digital Lifestyle Store' is yet to be launched officially on November 15, 2006, but the store has already started to garner a lot of public interest in Mumbai. Located at Crossword at Inorbit Mall, Malad, Mumbai, the xplore n' shop outlet allows people to not only see, but also feel and experience digital technology. Unlike xplore Lounge at Lamington road, which focuses on educating visitors on different kinds of technology, xplore n' shop makes those products available for purchase.
The xplore n' shop, promoted by Neoteric, is currently run by a franchise called Must and houses more than 13 top brands, such as Microsoft (Xbox), Kodak, Asus, Samsung, Canon, Logitech and Umax, among others. More brands are being roped in every week, in the run up to the launch. Ashutosh Sharma, Neoteric, said, "'xplore n' shop' offers the consumer a unique combination of value brands at economical options. Price is an important factor here, as well as the opportunity to explore, feel and experience technology that you might want to take home."
At present, the store has a gaming kiosk where visitors can play games on the Xbox 360 console. It also has a digital imaging kiosk where people can capture, edit and print pictures, before taking a call on what to buy. In addition, the xplore team will be setting up workshops at the store for digital imaging and even home video making. The workshops will kick off after November 15 and will encourage visitors to participate in movie making, digital imaging, gaming and a workshop for kids.
Mumbai will see more of these stores in different malls within the next year.
