Olympus has announced the release of a new digital camera – the Stylus 780, which they claim is an ultra-compact camera with an all weather metal body. It weighs approximately 125 grams.
The Stylus 780 is said to offer hardware image stabilization and software anti-blur. This model has a 7 mega-pixel CCD image sensor and Olympus-branded 5x optical zoom lens. It is also equipped with a 2.5-inch LCD display with a resolution of 230,000 pixels. The display is a wide-view type that Olympus claims, offers good visibility within a 140 degree angle.
Olympus also says that the Stylus 780’s all-weather body is durable enough for the rains, dust and snow. Among its other features are its 19 different scene modes, 15MB of internal memory and an additional slot for for an xD-Picture card. The 780 is equipped with a proprietary Lithium Ion battery.
To be shipped in the month of May in the US the, the Stylus 780 is priced at Rs. 15,400 ($349.99)
