Is Apple In Cahoots With RIM for Appleberry ?
By: Jayesh Mansukhani   |   Jun 05, 2006
Ever since Apple started using the Intel Platform for its new range, rumors of mergers and partnerships between unlikely companies have been having a field day. The latest one doing the rounds is a partnership between none other than Apple and RIM who makes the Blackberry series of email-centric devices. It seems Apple maybe in cahoots with RIM for what most industry observers have dubbed “AppleBerry". The two might jointly develop a new device: Apple could create a cell phone combining its iPod music device with RIM's wireless technology, or RIM might embed Apple's iTunes music into a future BlackBerry.

A combo like this one would have a huge advantage since each company needs what the other supplies. RIM wants a firm foothold in the consumer market and Apple doesn't have a presence in the booming wireless data sector.
