LG Officially Launches the KF700
By: Shayne Rana   |   Apr 24,2008
LG had showed off its KF700 touchscreen / slide-out keypad phone at GSMA 2008, but the handset has now been officially launched. So we can look forward to seeing this multimedia phone in the stores soon.

"We looked beyond just touch when designing the LG-KF700 and studied how people actually use their phones. The LG-KF700’s three separate input methods provide unmatched convenience and mean that users don’t have to give up anything to gain a touchscreen,” said Dr Skott Ahn, President and CEO of LG Mobile Communications.

The LG-KF700 is the first phone to integrate three separate input methods: a 3-inch touchscreen, a shortcut dial, and an alphanumeric keypad. It has an adaptive onscreen interface with a wide aspect ratio that should enhance video capabilities as well as net browsing. The shortcut dial at the rear of the phone will allow users to scroll through six user-selected features by controlling a virtual dial on screen. It can also be used to zoom in on web pages, scroll through emails, or adjust volume. The third input method is of course an alphanumeric keypad.

The LG-KF700 comes with a full-featured Web browser that provides access to Google Search, Blogs, Gmail, Maps and YouTube. It also has support for HSDPA 3G networks, so video calling is a distinct possibility. Other features include an MP3 player, MPEG4 video player, 3.0 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity. External memory is supported via microSD cards.

The handset is available in black and silver versions, as well as an all-black job with chrome accents. It's already available in Europe, and I have no doubt it will make its way to India soon. Keep your eyes peeled.

After along time a good option is available for CDMA users. But what is the price of this handset and how long will ot take to be available in Indian Market

@Rohan
Price should have been mentioned.. I agree. The rest I dont.
Samsung is the number 2 player in the mobile space. SE comes at no. 4, behind Moto. This is enough, I guess, to counter the rest of your arguments.
Nitin @ Apr 25,2008
well, the phone looks good and is quite desirable....but lets see how it does on the market..

Price should have been mentioned.
LG & samsung arent even close to SE & nokia.(viewty is such an ugly name for a phone)
Its the design only that attracts people to buy such phones.
Ever wondered why Blackberry sells so less, though it has such a wonderful interface?
rohan @ Apr 25,2008
