Motorola To Buy Blackberry Rival
By: Jayesh Mansukhani   |   Nov 12, 2006
ITwire has reported that Motorola in a strategic move has decided to acquire Good Tech Inc., a push email software company who directly competes with R.I.M's popular Blackberry service. Motorola for some time now has been bundling Good Tech's Mobile Messaging software with its phones. The whole deal will be complete by next year for an undisclosed amount. Motorola with this acquisition will have a good wireless solution to be able to challenge RIM in the enterprise mail market.

This move could have an adverse effect on Palm though. Palm currently is solely dependant, on Good Tech's products and this move could force Palm to shift entirely, to Windows based mobile email solutions.
