World's top mobile handset maker Nokia on Tuesday introduced two new models in the N-series range, aiming to strengthen its position in the $15 billion mobile entertainment market in India.
The new phones, N81 and N95 (8GB), have been priced at Rs 26,249 and Rs 35,059 respectively.
"Mobile entertainment is a key growth driver for the Value Added Services (VAS) segment. Currently, it accounts for 15 billion dollars of the $63 billion Indian VAS market and constitutes 37 per cent of the $28 billion non-SMS mobile data revenue," Nokia India Business Director (Multimedia) Vineet Taneja said here.
N95 is equipped with Assisted-Global Positioning System that would help consumers to locate their destinations.
Mobile music (ringtones, ringback tones and full track) market has been growing in the country. It has been a major contributor to the growth of the non-voice mobile services revenue, accounting for $227 million in 2006 and expected to reach $476 million this year, the company said.
