Samsung has launched the Ultra Messaging i600 Smartphone that was first spotted at IFA 2006. The slim, 11.8mm Windows Mobile 5.0-powered Smartphone is 3G/WCDMA/UMTS and also HSDPA capable. It has video telephony support with a secondary VGA camera. It has support for Bluetooth 2.0 EDR and WiFi 802.11b/g and USB, though just 1.1.
The Ultra Messaging phone focuses on messaging and email with a full QWERTY keyboard and wheel key and has built-in support for Direct Push Technology for email, along with Microsoft Outlook and Exchange Server 2003 synchronisation support. Mobile versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint are also available. It also comes with Internet Explorer.
The SGH-i600 also comes with Windows Media Player 10 Mobile and support for Bluetooth A2DP stereo headsets. The phone also supports AVRCP. There is also a 1.3-megapixel digital camera with video recording support. The display is a large, 2.3-inch, QVGA (320x240) resolution TFT LCD. The phone comes with 128 MB of ROM, 64 MB of RAM and a microSD/TransFlash expansion slot.
The Ultra Messaging SGH-i600, also known as the BlackJack i607 on Cingular, is expected to be available in Asia Pacific and Europe around the first quarter of 2007, though the price is not known.
