Will There be a 3G iPhone?
By: Aalaap Ghag   |   Feb 25,2007

If a tip from AppleInsider is anything to go by, Apple may have had in mind a 3G iPhone, for release as early as the beginning of next year.

One of the key features of a modern mobile phone is 3G/UMTS network support, which the self-proclaimed 'revolutionary' iPhone doesn't have, topping out with GPRS and EDGE only. Most phones showcased at 3GSM in Barcelona recently were HSDPA (3.5G) capable. 3.5G may be a little farther away from being commonplace, but 3G is not.

Apple's 3G-less iPhone is slated for a mid-2007 release.
