According to Intel, the DX48BT2 Extreme Series board is designed for extreme gaming performance, and therefore unleashes the fastest native 1600 MHz front side bus and memory support. This helps it in providing powerful performance and extreme overclockability. This board supports Intel Core2 Extreme processors featuring quad or dual-core processing and a faster 1600/1333/1066/800 MHz FSB and is built with the Intel X48 Express Chipset with ICH9R. There are two DIMM sockets designed to support up to 4 GB of DDR3 1600 MHz memory or an option of four DIMM sockets designed to support up to 8 GB of DDR3 1333/1066/800 MHz memory. The Intel Desktop Board D945GCLF integrates a microprocessor, chipset, motherboard, and heat sink into a single unit.
