Apple Ships Spyware-Ridden iPods
By: Aalaap Ghag   |   Oct 18, 2006
There were a few reports of spyware-ridden iPod Videos being sent out into the market, which have now been confirmed by Apple. If you bought your video iPod after September 12th, you should pray that your anti-virus was doing its job.

The affected iPods carry a Trojan dubbed 'Troj/Bdoor-DIJ' or a member of the 'RJump' family, which puts 'RavMonE.exe' in the Windows registry to start up automatically.

Naturally, MacOS users have nothing to worry about. Apple said "As you might imagine, we are upset at Windows for not being more hardy against such viruses, and even more upset with ourselves for not catching it."
