Samsung has launched the new Ultra Edition II phones that were discovered earlier (here and here). The phones include the U300 clamshell, the U600 and U700 sliders, and the thinnest candybar, the U100. All the phones are tri-band GSM, GPRS and EDGE handsets which support Bluetooth and also feature a 3 megapixel camera.
The Ultra Edition 5.9 U100 is an ultra slim, 5.9mm phone which is an upgrade to the X820. It has a 1.9-inch, landscape aspect 220x176 resolution display, around 70mb of internal memory, but still no memory card slot.
The Ultra Edition 9.6 U300 clamshell is an upgrade to the D830, coming in at just 9.6mm, with a 2.2-inch QVGA screen and a 98x16 external OLED screen. The 3 megapixel camera on this phone also has a flash. The U300 has around 70mb of internal memory, but once again no memory card slot.
The Ultra Edition 10.9 U600 is a slider that's one up from the D900, being only 10.9mm thin. It also features a 2.2-inch QVGA display, around 60mb of internal memory, microSD support and is a quad-band GSM handset. It also features business card recognition. The U600 will come in sapphire blue, garnet red, platinum metal and copper gold colors.
Finally, the last slider is the HSDPA-packing U700, which once again has a 2.2-inch QVGA display, a 3 megapixel camera with auto-focus capabilities, a secondary VGA camera for video calling and full HTML web browsing. The phone has only 20mb of internal memory, but thankfully there's a microSD memory card slot.
All these Ultra Edition II series of handsets are expected to be released in Europe around the first quarter of this year, which is anytime within the next 45 days, actually.
