The keyboard unit of the 7000 Desktop series, is the result of having taken the design of the Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000, adding wireless connectivity to it and an extensive re-design which now utilizes a proprietary "gull wing" design to bring the keys closer to the user's fingers. This design also encourages a better wrist and arm alignment which further eliminates stress on the end-user. The mouse unit of the 7000 Desktop series i.e. the Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 7000 is similar to its predecessor the 6000 series and only adds 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity for better connectivity.
"We're very excited to deliver this product to help make the time our customers spend on their computers more comfortable," said Dan Odell, Ph.D.,user researcher and ergonomist, Hardware Group at Microsoft. "The Natural Ergonomic Desktop 7000 combines the best of technology and comfort with 30-foot range, 2.4 GHz wireless technology and groundbreaking ergonomic design."
The Natural Ergonomic Desktop 7000 is scheduled to be widely available by July 2007 for an estimated retail price of $149.9.
