Assassin's Creed (PC) Min Specs Revealed
By: Avinash Bali   |   Jan 23, 2008
While Assassin’s Creed didn’t quite turn out to be the medieval GTA killer most of us had hoped for, it certainly was an entertaining game when played in short bursts. It did have a tendency to get pretty repetitive after a while.

Either way it performed pretty well on both the PS3 and the Xbox360, selling over 2.5 million units worldwide. And now it’s time for developer Ubisoft to milk some more of the green stuff with the PC port that should hit the stands anytime between March and April. We got word of the game’s minimum system requirements via Shacknews and, as expected, it’s turning out to be quite a system hog (sloppy port alert):
  • Dual core processor 2.6 GHz Intel Pentium D or AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 2 GB RAM
  • Windows XP/Vista
  • 256 MB DirectX 10.0 compliant video card or DirectX 9.0compliant card with Shader Model 3.0 or higher
  • DVD-ROM dual-layer drive
  • HD Space: 12GB
Somehow I don’t have a good feeling about this and I’m afraid the PC port of this game may suffer the same fate as Midway’s Stranglehold – which by the way was a complete disaster on the PC. Developers should definitely stand up and take note of Valve or Infinity Ward, who are miraculously churning out gorgeous games while keeping the system requirements pretty reasonable.

It's better to buy the game on xbox 360 as it will cost me less.
In 2007 all the games work fine on 1GB Ram except stranglehold. Now in 2008 I have to upgarde my pc to 2GB to meet the min specs of this kind of games.I think in 2010 the min specs of games will be 4 to 5 GB Ram.

Really pathetic port, minimum requirements exceeds Crysis.
2GB RAM as min, the developers really messed up this release. With no optimization watsoever!!
