Valve has just announced that they’re launching a beta version of their Steam Community this month end. Steam Community is basically a free service that allows gamers to create profile pages, create and join groups of their choice, schedule games and chat with one another. Here are Gabe Newell, co-founder and president of Valve’s words on the same:
"Our community has given us great direction on the ways they want to see Steam evolve...
Adding these new community features to make it easier to connect with other gamers is something we've wanted to see on Steam for a long time and this latest update is just the start. We've got a long list of items that we're working on to make it easier for gamers to connect and play games on Steam."
As we speak, Valve’s working around the clock to add ‘final polish’ to their beta version. I just can’t wait to see it do what Xbox Live does, only much better and for free.
