Sharp's MP-B300: No looks, but good skills
By: Aalaap Ghag   |   May 30,2006
These days everyone just wants to make gadgets that look pretty much like the iPod, and the lesser creative ones just go and make exact copies. But the Sharp MP-B300 is proof that there IS an alternate train of thought in this universe. Its got chunky square buttons, a mono LCD display, bland, mildly tacky, glossy finish and just about everything else that's not cool out there. On the other hand, it's 8.9mm thin, has 1GB of built-in memory, a miniSD slot for expansion, and it has an integrated FM tuner and TRANSMITTER. Yes, an iTrip built-in to the iPod! Now do you realize why Sharp would want to put this out on the shelves next to the Nanos and the Yepps and the Walkmans?
