PS3 Indian Launch Date, Price Revealed

After months of rumors and speculation, Sony's PlayStation 3 will finally be officially launched in India on the 27th of April, 2007. As of now we'll have to make do with the 60 GB model that'll be available for Rs. 39,990.


An exceptional range of titles from every genre will also be available from the world’s leading third party publishers including Electronic Arts, Namco Bandai and Sony Online Entertainment. Priced at Rs. 2,799 per game, these softwares will be distributed by Milestone Interactive Software Limited. The stellar line-up of over 12 game titles includes the critically acclaimed Resistance: Fall of Man, MotorStorm, Genji, Days of the Blade, Formula 1 : Championship Edition and Ridge Racer7. Other game titles include Def Jam: Icon, Fight Night Round 3, NBA Street HomeCourt, Need for Speed Carbon, The Godfather: The Don’s Edition, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2007 and Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom.

i too bought my PS3 from Hong Kong ...and its giving me the region code error...what should i do...its 60 Gb...i am new to this...s

hey man i've just bought a PS3 from Dubai. I m new to these gaming consoles an all. We all know that on ps3 we can play Genuine PS1 and PS2 Games. Someone told me that by installing a chip i can be able to play all pirated games on PS3!!!!!!!.

Is this possible and for how much ????

I doubt the prices will go down for a year or 2, ps3 are already losing sony money they are getting their money from the games so i really doubt the price drop unless they become extremely cheap to make.

I got 1 and its awesome... the price is more than 360 because the system is better than 360 just the blue ray player gets the moneys worth. plus the rest of the system is great faster great graphics bluetooth so the price is fine

I bought the PS3 60 Gb from Hong Kong and tried to play PS2 games I bought from India, but it did'nt work due to region code restriction. I heard that PS3 games that are on Blue ray discs are region free but my NFS carbon says its region code 3. So guys watch out for this region code problem. But the PS3 is worth every penny as it is a complete home entertainment system and its power and performance will BLOW your mind.

EVERYONE LISTEN UP... I bought a Sony PS3 here in US for $600 incl taxes. The Japanese version of the 60gb is being sold for $500. Now remember that PS3 is region free with games and Blu ray Movies... so the only disadvantage with buying a PS3 from US or Japan would be DVD playback compatibility... which doesnt really bother the Indian market bcoz we get all kinds of DVDs out there, PAL or NTSC... Most people have some one in US for sure, especially if u can afford such a console... so get it shipped from these countries... And for all you XBOX360 fanboys... XBOX is not 1080p HD compatible, Cant play HD movies unless u payup another $200 for the ugly external drive, it comes with just 20gb if u spend on the premium version and it neither has bluetooth, nor wifi...

ps3 is too damn xpensive (i heard 45000),i dont think there is much diff. between ps3 and x-box360 then why such a difference in prices of the two next generation gaming consoles

Why didnt they ask for "GIVE US YOUR BABIES TOO and Give us your LEG AND ARM?

it just ocurred to me...2 360 core systems = one PS3. So, why one earth does SONY think that people would go for the PS3 instead of the cheaper 360?

Hey Chetan and VArun... Microsoft does not make the Playstation 3... Sony does... But 40000 is like way too expensive.. and here i was thinkin that the xbox 360 was seeming too expensive at 27000

and with the PS3 being Region free I think anyone can get a ps3 from anywhere and enjoy the games :D

wow..thats crazy expensive....one controller, no bundle...and top it up PS3 is losing exclusivity to most of its titles as publishers are releasing the same for PC / 360. Tough times ahead for the PS3...may the best console win
