We know it's happening but we just don't know when, so we're waiting patiently for the BIG announcement, though reports are saying that the 3G iPhone will be out in the second week of next month.
Presumably the 3G version will make an appearance when Apple has its WWDC Keynote on June 9th this year. So we're assuming the updated handset will soon be ready to hit the shelves. That makes no difference to us of course, as I’m sure most of us will be quite thrilled with just having the first generation model make its way here officially later this year.
Why would Apple launch an outdated model in a country that's the fastest growing mobile market? But then again, why shouldn’t we at least hope if not expect the 3G version to be launched here when it does in a few months.
Let's keep our collective fingers crossed. Stay Tuned.

Sure it does need improvement. 3G to begin with...........pricing to end with.

First of all, it does not have removable battery. I bought one iPhone frm US unlocked it here but went dead in 2 days time!!
Battery goes off too quickly.
Newer phones in other brands have better 'other' features like better camera, connectivity (BT with PC etc...)
In terms of stability, still iPhone lacks Nokia or SE.
Sending SMS via finger touch may not be that great though Applie tried its best with predictive words etc...
Last but not least, too expensive for its average features other than innovative interface.
Would not mind to but at Rs 10K and 3G model for Rs 15K - 8 GB o 16 GB makes no difference in this country.
