Hot off the Pearl comes the new RIM BlackBerry 8800, code-named 'Gamma Ray'. This upgrade to the 8700 adopts the Pearl's glowing trackball, but does away with the SureType keyboard in favor of a full QWERTY keypad for old schoolers.
The new 8800 also seems to be ultra slim: just 1.55cm. It should have a QVGA display (320x240), a 1.3 megapixel camera with flash, a full media player. The phone can be a quad-band GSM, GPRS, EDGE handset with WiFi as well as Bluetooth support, including A2DP for wireless stereo. There should be around 64MB built-in memory with a microSD/TransFlash expansion slot.
The BlackBerry 8800 can be expected around the first quarter of 2007.
