Nokia Firmware Update renders E70s Useless
By: Aalaap Ghag   |   Sep 16, 2006

As we reported a few weeks ago, Nokia, like Sony Ericsson and Siemens, has now started offering firmware updates to their phones. But if you have a new E70, I think you should hold on for a while before you go upgrade to the latest.

A buggy update posted by Nokia on the site has turned quite a lot of E70s into useless pieces of metal. The phones would start up and show the Nokia logo, but wouldn't go beyond that. Nokia has reportedly fixed and updated the buggy firmware, but that's not going to be of any use to those who's E70s are already bricks. Apparently the fix is also not available for American E70-2 versions of the phone, so if you're not sure where you got yours from, hold on. Just a little longer.
