Skype on Nokia Series 60 Delayed

It may be a while before you get your hands on Skype for your Nokia Series 60 Smartphone due to a 'number of technical obstacles', as the CEO was quoted in a Finnish newspaper. Skype runs fine on a basic Windows Mobile handset, even though it requires a high-bandwidth connection like WiFi or 3G. Most Windows mobile phones have higher powered CPUs than Series 60 phones, and the Skype protocol, which was originally developed to work on PCs, seems to be difficult to adapt for use on lower-powered Series 60 devices.

@ Asha, please take a look at Fring.com - it has all the details you may need to make voice calls to/from gtalk on series 60 phone.

@ i user skype and gtalk for voice calls on my 6630 with airtel gprs connection with a software called fring (fring.Com). And i am very satisfied.

wish i could write some articles on this site :)

I user skype and gtalk for voice calls on my 6630 with Airtel GPRS connection with a software called fring (fring.com). And I am very satisfied.

I had seen this site called....www.munduspeak.com . They are providing the messenger which runs on s60 phones. Along with regular instant messeging we can do voice chat with our buddies. So in a sense what we are expecting from skype, this software providing it all.
