HTC Diamond Launched in India
By: Shayne Rana   |   May 22, 2008
The HTC Touch Diamond that was launched only a little while ago has made its way to India and rather quickly I might add. This new handset for HTC features their new 3D TouchFLO interface and will be exclusively available with Bharti Airtel as of now.

"We are proud to launch the HTC Touch Diamond for our valued customers in India. The Touch Diamond, HTC’s new flagship product, packs diverse functionalities into an attractive form factor with consummate ease", said Ajay Sharma, Country Manager, HTC (India).

Its new sharp design, updated interface and integrated GPS should make this new handset running on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional something to reckon with. The HTC Touch will be available through Airtel in 25 cities across the country at a Market Operating Price of Rs. 27,500 (inclusive of all taxes) and all authorized HTC resellers.

Hi All,
I have compared HTC Diamond & HTC TOUCH Pro. For myself as a business user, HTC Touch pro is amazingly a good option.
If anyone can tell me when is it launching in the INDIAN Market & what will be its pricing. Also, if HTC users can pls. tell me how good the products are?

if it is a marrketing strategy, it is bull shit. no one knows the date of maketing of HTC Diamond. Airtel dont know, its dealer are not aware. I think it is launched in papers or in the company for production
manoj @ Jun 07, 2008

The Airtel Customer care doesnt even have a clue about this....this is amazing that they are getting a exclusive on it.....HTC should do something about this...loosing credibility
Sanjay @ May 31, 2008
All HTC phone are worst. Lot of problem. Service worst. If you give for service it will take more than 2 weeks.
You can recommend only to worst enemy.
Swetha @ May 30, 2008
Wait a min, who said that this version does have 3G. The version launched for asia pacific is compatible with GSM networks of 900/1800/1900 and also supports HSDPA (3G) 2100/900
answertonipun @ May 25, 2008
@ Nipun. Where the hell in india are you going to use 3G nipun? I am Glad this doesnt have 3G thus not raising the price unneccesarily

@ NRB. Airtel Customer care?? What were you thinking? They help you with your calling plans not mobile phones. Go to nearest Airtel Store Dude.
This phone cant be compared to Iphone. Coz it has all that Iphone doesnt. This is a serious business phone, with graphic improvement. So kids looking for Iphone in this phone go somewhere else.

I think we'll need to Upgrade the battery ourself though. I wish it was available with Vodaphone. So till than no other option than waiting.
Robbie @ May 25, 2008
i treid calling the airtel customer care and they couldnt tell me where it is available. i guess airtel is not the right company to lauch phones like htc diamond. it should be vodafone. the customer care guy first did not understand also what i was asking as if i was speaking in greek
NRB @ May 25, 2008
this version of diamond lacks 3G..HOW COULD U NOT PROVIDE 3G WHEN EVEN APPLE IS COMING WITH 3G IPHONE....SHAME ON U HTC
NIPUN @ May 24, 2008
Amazing grammar..."new flagship product:...:-)
Vivek Nair @ May 24, 2008
its a nice phone.
an @ May 24, 2008
N about de price..you cant get such a sexy phone for peanuts..
It ll always come at a cost..
N i still belive its a competitive price,it was 35k when N95 was released..so..expect a price cut little later..
N moreover..this aint de flagship phone..
This s just de 1st phone wid de latest Touch3D interface..
Expect HTC to bring out better phones in near future..
N talkin about Sony's Xperia..I don think its gonna get released any soon..remember W960i...it came ages later its been announced..already its been 4 months since announcement of Xperia..still no one has any clue about its release..
Rohan. @ May 23, 2008
Its de best Windows Mobile device till date..
Its better than iphone for its features..
N you cant compare Nokia running on symbian and a windows mob phone..
N abt de phone..its damn thin..just 11.5mms..n for a better understanding..Nokia E51 s 12mm thick n N73 s 19mm..
Rohan @ May 23, 2008
It is a great phone,I love this phone very much!!!
Samrat Mazumdar @ May 23, 2008
3 MP camera without a flash...what a WASTE....not sure how good/fps is video recording
Gaurav @ May 23, 2008
If you can, wait for iPhone in India or sony xperia. Or else N95 8GB is much better option if you can live without tochscreen
Gaurav @ May 23, 2008
I dont even care to look at it for that much price. There are much better options
L D @ May 23, 2008
please let me know the details of HTC OUTLETS in HYDERABAD immediatetly.
vijay kumar @ May 23, 2008
HTC diamond is a great looking phone which great features but has a 900 mAH battery so its gonna be really pathetic there........
Prathamesh @ May 23, 2008
Iphone is no where near to HTC Diamond. I love this phone and was waiting to get my hands on it since it launch in europe. HTC Diamond is a great phone.
KrishnaChaitanya Ch @ May 23, 2008
whatever may be the reason, cant you guys be happy to get a world class product in your hands, is there a reason to complaint???i dont understand why iphone is taking so long to come to india, in any case ppl who really want an iphone already got it from the grey market...
jas @ May 23, 2008
Dont u guys feel this hasty launch in India is to capture as much market as possible before the iPhone's Indian launch?? It generally takes a bit longer for the official launch to occur in India...
