Scalado, developer of mobile imaging software, has launched a new software that when used with a simple camera phone offers panorama effects, without compromising on image quality.
Scalado's new Caps imaging software has a number of feature modules, and AutoRama, a stitching technology which sews numerous images together to automatically create a single, specialized, panoramic photograph with a click of a handset button.
AutoRama allows users to take 10 high-resolution images in succession and features 8 different stitching modes, to enable the user to create personal photographs. The software automatically stitches the images together to meet the desired size of photograph. With Autorama users can view, pan and zoom over every part of the panorama images instantly.
The software tracks the camera's movements as the user pans from side to side and senses when it needs to change exposure by using the vibrate function on the handset, giving the user instant feedback as they are taking the shot.
"No photo effect is more dramatic than sweeping panoramas, and anyone that can operate the phone's camera can create spectacular images using AutoRama," says Mats Jacobson, CEO, Scalado. "It's made so simple, you don't need to be an expert as you just point and shoot as the phone automatically does the rest for you, vibrating to tell you when to take the next shot to create the perfect high-resolution multi mega pixel panorama."
Scalado's patented Rajpeg technology is used in AutoRama. Rajpeg is a JPEG codec technology that reduces memory requirements, processing JPEG input and output images in the compressed domain, which enable the viewing of any region of a JPEG image without the need to access the previous parts of the image. Rajpeg reduces the amount of RAM memory required by a factor of 25x while still processing full resolution mega pixel images, and increases performance and the speed for image manipulation by a factor of up to 10x.
