Google Docs is finally getting an offline function, months after the rumor began to float around.

The online-based authoring tool is already popular for its ease of use. Now with this move Google's looking to extend its functionality for users on the move. Starting from next week, Google will enable this functionality giving users the ability to view and edit documents while offline.

Google also announced that this functionality will soon be extended to their entire range of Google App products, which includes Gmail, spreadsheets and other programs.
