Google Goes Mobile In Europe

British mobile phone users will now be able to access Google news and Gmail from their handsets and personalize their own Google homepage on their mobiles. Google has already partnered with several operators including T-Mobile and Vodafone and handset makers such as Motorola and SonyEricsson to give the move a better kickstart.

Google mobile allows users to browse through quick links to specific news categories such as business, science and technology and sport from select sources. Google says that most phones bought within the last few years will be able to access Google News, Gmail and the personalized Google homepage.

While Google is offering the services free of charge, users will be charged for data calls made to access them by their mobile network. Google, already available across the US on mobile handsets, will now be available for European countries like UK, France, Germany and Spain.
