Airtel Announces Taj Mahal SMS Campaign

Bharti Airtel has announced a Free SMS campaign all its mobile customers across India, to vote for the Taj Mahal. This initiative is in line with the ongoing campaign running across the country, for people to voice their support, in order to select the Taj Mahal as one of the new Seven Wonders of the World.

To participate in this campaign, Airtel subscribers may send an SMS with the keyword 'TAJ' to a short code (4567). Airtel offers all its users the first SMS free during the period July 1st to July 6th (Midnight). For subsequent messages, the sender will be charged the standard Rs. 3 per SMS.

Sanjay Gupta, Chief Marketing Officer, Mobile Services, Bharti Airtel Limited said, "The Taj Mahal is a historic landmark that symbolizes India’s rich heritage and culture. This initiative is a special gesture by us, inviting all of Airtel’s 40 million plus family members to come forward and make their vote count."

As a bonus, Airtel subscribers are also offered customized music composed by AR Rehman, in six languages (Hindi, Bangla, Tamil, Telegu, Kannada, Malayalam) for the Taj Mahal campaign. Airtel mobile users can download this as their Hello Tune by directly dialing 678777. Users can also download Ringtones, Truetones and full tracks by visiting Airtel Live from a GPRS enabled phone.
