State owned telecom operator, BSNL has reduced its tariff rates for all outgoing calls from GSM PCOs, CCB PCOs, Local PCOs and Local VPT. According to the new tariff, calls from these PCOs to any network within the state (LSA) will be charged uniformly at 1 Rupee per minute with a 60 second pulse. The inter circle and STD calls from GSM PCOs are also reduced to Rs 2.50 from the existing Rs 3.00 per minute with 60 second pulse.
Moreover, BSNL has reduced the minimum guarantee for Local PCOs including CCB PCOs, from Rs 500/- to Rs 300/- per month in urban areas. The revised tariff for GSM PCOs will be applicable from today (15th November) while the tariff for Local PCOs/VPT/CCB PCOs is already in place from 1st November.
