BSNL to Introduce Pre-paid Recharging via SMS

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), provider of cellular mobile telecom services in the country, is to introduce multi-pronged methods to recharge or renew the talk time coupons for their pre-paid mobile customers.

In an informal chat with newsmen in Trichirappalli, L Kannan, General Manager, Mobile Services, Tamil Nadu Circle, said renewal or recharging process for pre-paid customers would be entrusted to franchisees soon.

Entitled as 'Channel Top Up Franchisees' (with the Hyderabad based Nortel-Ericcson Switches), the franchisees would just recharge the talk time on receipt of prescribed fees across the counter, he said.

Piror to that, BSNL would be introducing recharging facility to their Cell One customers by SMSs.

There would also be a facility where a BSNL customer could also recharge the coupon of another customer, he said.

Efforts were afoot to redress the present bottleneck of failures in recharging system, Kannan said.

As of now, Tamil nadu circle was holding mobile users base in the range of 20.67 lakhs, out of which 17.61 lakh were in the pre-paid category. The Trichy INN (intelligent network) was covering a six Secondary Switching Areas covering Tamil Nadu circle, Kerala and Chennai city with an installed capacity of 16 lakh connections.

"The Ericcson-nortel combined INN based at Coimbatore with forty-lakh capacity was catering to the four Southern states, Union Territory of Pondicherry and Chennai city circle.

Good to know that BSNL is introducing BSNL Cell One Prepaid Card. Will like to know the procedure of Buyingh it online.

Is BSNL not giving any offer for Prepaid Cellone for Independence Day Celebration.

AS IT IS WE FIND VERY DIFFICULT TO RECHARGE PREPAID CELLONE ..AFTER NUMBE OF TIMES ONLY WE ARE ABLE TO RECHARGE..THIS IS VERY COMMON IN CHENNAI CITY BSNL CELLONE ..I DON'T KNOW HOW IT WOULD BE THROUGH SMS..LET US HOPE FOR THE BEST

why does'snt BSNL tie up with major Banks through which we could recharge online .This would save a lot of hassles .
