Viewsonic Introduces New Eco-friendly LCDs
By: Jayesh Mansukhani   |   Jun 24, 2008
Viewsonic has introduced two new additions to its VA Series of LCDs – the widescreen 19-inch, VA1928wm and VA1918wm. The monitors come with 10,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio, and deliver exceptional front-of-screen performance for office and education applications. They conform to a 16:10 aspect ratio which allows users dual-page viewing and simple, quick application navigation while the fast 5ms ClearMotiv video response provides a blur-free fast action video.

Furthermore the monitors come with ECO mode which is based on the "Green LCD" concept. The backlight module can be adjusted to Standard (100%), Optimize (75%) and Conserve (60%) lighting power to extend the LCD monitor life

"The need for energy saving multimedia desktop displays in India is rising exponentially. Today students and office users work extensively on monitor screens and simultaneously on multiple documents or applications. This prolonged usage calls for energy saving and eco friendly display solutions." said Gautam Ghosh, Country Manager, ViewSonic Technologies India Pvt. Ltd. "By introducing these two new Energy Saving performance packed Green LCD's enriched with features typically associated with high-end displays, ViewSonic is making it possible for users to enjoy the latest in display technology without breaking the bank."

The VA1912WM costs Rs. 10,500, while the VA1928WM is available for Rs. 10,700.

This is not a review or a feature put out by tech2.com. Its merely a news report filed by us on a PR sent out by viewsonic announcing a product release.

These figures have not been released. Just the standards met

Hi Jayesh

I believe you missed out on the main point in this story. How much power do these monitors consume now and how much power did their older counterparts used to consume and thus, what kind of power savings can one expect by using these?

Regards
