While Sharp's biggest achievement this CES has got to be that monster-sized LCD TV, the new line of Aquos LCD TVs are definitely worth a second look.
The GP1U sets come in 37-inch and 32-inch variety and support dynamic contrast ratios of 8500:1 and 10,000: 1 respectively. They both use the 'QuickShoot' circuitry for a less than 6ms response time, which is what makes it ideal for gaming.
But the selling point of the TVs is the 'Vyper Drive', which reduces the lag time between the consoles and the TV. There are also convenient side-mounted component and HDMI inputs with their own access buttons on the remote.
Both will be available in March 2006 at $1700 for the 32-inch and $2000 for the 37-inch. Gaming consoles sold separately of course.
