Acer has launched an ultraportable consumer notebook - Acer Aspire 2920 for the Indian market.
The 12.1" Acer Aspire 2920 is from the Gemstone series, featuring jewel-like styling, with a ceramic-finish pearl-grey interior along with a Holographic satin-finish cover and is aimed at the contemporary working woman. The laptop is being offered with a choice of Linux for Rs. 37,115 and the Vista Home Premium OS for Rs. 40,615, excluding taxes.
The 2920 uses the latest Intel Core2 Duo mobile processor T5450, supporting Mobile Intel GM965 Express chipset and Intel Wireless WiFi Link network solution and has a 160 GB HDD. With a WXGA Acer CrystalBrite TFT LCD display and system memory of 2GB RAM, the Acer Aspire 2920 comes equipped with battery life up to 3.5 hours. The Acer ePowerManagement allows users to choose the power management setting to extend the battery time. Additionally, the Acer SignalUp and Acer GridVista technologies have been incorporated into this notebook for more reliable wireless connectivity as well as optimized feature driven display management.
The Aspire 2920 comes with an embedded DVD writer, Acer CrystalBrite technology and Dolby Certified Sound System, which offers 7.1-channel surround sound. It supports a dual independent display and features the Acer Video Conference solution with Acer CrystalEye webcam.

Acer Aspire 2920 notebook is currently available in major cities across India and offers Gigabit LAN, and easy-launch buttons for WLAN, Bluetooth, email, Internet and user-programming.
