Dailytech has reported that Asus has finally announced its R2H UMPC. Since it's unveiling at Computex in June the R2H has garnered a lot of interest and has already received its FCC approval. The R2H is slated to take on the likes of the Samsung Q1 and the Sony VAIO UX50/UX90.
As a refresher, the Asus R2H features Windows XP Tablet PC Edition, a 7" WXGA screen, a 900MHz Celeron M ULV processor, 256MB DDR2 533MHz memory (expandable to 768MB), 1.8" 4200RPM HDD (available in capacities of 20GB, 30GB, 40GB or 60GB), Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, 802.11a/b/g, GPS, fingerprint reader, SD card reader and three USB 2.0 ports. All of this is packed into a 9.2" x 5.2" x 1.1" frame that weighs in at 1.8 pounds.
Pricing as of now is not known but I suspect that other manufacturers have shipped their devices at around a $1000, this device might cost the same.
