Now Engadget has reported that Asus has upgraded the R2H and is demonstrating the product at CeBIT 2007. The new name for the R2H is T83. Asus has changed quite a few things in the product specification lineup. For starters, the amount of HDD space and system memory have been halved from 60 GB to 30 GB and 512 to 256 MB of RAM. The decently powerful Celeron M ULV processor replaced by a weak 1 GHz VIA C7-M processor.
These moves have been made to increase battery life on the T83 and this is adequately reflected in the increased battery life. The T83 offers 6 hours of battery life as compared to 2 hours of the R2H. In other changes Asus has added a swiveling LCD housing and a QWERTY keyboard which has a trackpoint and two mouse buttons.
