The format war between HD-DVD and Blu-ray has only just begun, but Sony has already announced the first just-after-next-gen, dual-layer 50 GB Blu-ray movie titles that offers extra bonus features such as the 'Blu-Wizard' authoring environment for enhanced interactivity. The first batch of Blu-ray BD50 movies will contain Adam Sandler starrer 'Click', Ridley Scott's 'Black Hawk Down' and NASCAR-inspired comedy, 'Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby', starring Will Ferell.

David Bishop, president of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, said "We're proud to be the first studio to deliver a 50 GB Blu-ray Disc title to the marketplace with Click on October 10, along with two other highly entertaining titles this year that offer the expanded capacity and special features only a 50 GB disc can provide."
The dual-layer BD50 Blu-ray discs will be playable on current Blu-ray disc players without any additional hardware or modification.
