Microsoft has tied up with Facebook, the seventh most popular social networking site in the US, in an advertisement deal. Facebook will now allow the IT giant to provide search and advertising listings to it's nine million users for the next three years. The companies have announced that Microsoft will post banner advertising and sponsored links on Facebook by October. Moreover, Facebook will also provide aggregate user behavior to Microsoft, which it says will allow adCenter to better tailor ad placements.
The deal comes soon after rival Google walked away with a prized advertising deal with Myspace, reaching out to 100 million registered users of the social networking site, earlier this month. While Google will pay $900 million to Myspace over the next three years as part of the arrangement, Microsoft has not disclosed financial terms of its agreement with Facebook.
