Data Design Interactive has announced that they'll be releasing their upcoming action-RPG Call for Heroes: Pompolic Wars, for the Wii too. The game is scheduled for a launch on the PC platform this June, while the recently announced Wii version will see light of day sometime around the end of this year.
The game will be based in a fantasy world where you take the task of saving the world from a demonic invasion, upon yourself. You’ll supposedly gain control of two diverse characters, which you’ll be able to control using the Wii's complete remote functionality to cast spells, shoot arrows and slash with your sword. Here’s a little about the game from its official website :
This is a third-person action game with RPG elements placed in a fantasy world for the PC and Nintendo Wii. The game is divided into 15 maps that range from mysterious environments to the grass strewn plains and dark dungeons. The player can choose between 2 characters, each with unique weapons and special abilities. Whichever character is chosen, there will be constant action with hordes of monsters. There are 18 types of monsters, and at the end of the game the boss awaits the player.
The game uses the latest lighting and shadowing techniques, including real-time shadows, DOT3 bump mapping, water reflections, particle systems and more. Monsters also have advanced bump-mapping and lighting models including specular lighting.
