Nintendo Wii Price: Nearly $225

I hate to say this, but I think Sony is pretty screwed this time round in the "battle of the consoles". The Xbox 360 has had a good lead and all initial screw-ups aside, it has tasted good success. The Wii that's going to be launched sometime during end of 2006, has the price advantage as it is the only next-generation console to be priced at US$225 (around Rs. 10,000). For a next-generation console, that's pretty cheap, as you still get the Xbox (here in India) for around Rs. 12,000. Add in an extra controller and the cost will probably jump up to $250, which is still very reasonable. Nintendo plans on shipping six million units globally by March 2007 and nearly 17 million Wii titles a year after the console launches. With such economic pricing, an innovative control scheme and some pretty cool launch titles, Nintendo may just be the dark horse many fanboys wanted it to be. You must be kidding me.... A WII is priced @ > 650$ whereas a PS3 would cost you 699$
