Microsoft Makes Office Validation Compulsory
By: Jayesh Mansukhani   |   Oct 31, 2006
Microsoft has introduced Office Genuine Advantage (OGA) which works on the same lines as the rather controversial Windows Genuine Advantage.

Under this anyone wishing to download office templates for Office XP 2003 and the upcoming 2007, and wanting to update their office package with the latest patches will have to validate their copy of Office using OGA.

For all of you who just groaned out aloud at the idea, OGA is not a new initiative. Since April, anyone who utilizes Brazilian Portuguese, Czech, Greek, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Russian and Spanish versions of the Office packages has been forced to validate their copies.

I guess it's just a matter of time before this gets cracked too.
