Slysoft Unveils AnyDVD HD
By: Jayesh Mansukhani   |   Feb 19, 2007

It seems DRM and its promoters just can't seem to catch a lucky break now days. Ever since Muslix a software programmer demonstrated that next generation technologies HD DVD and Blu-Ray were susceptible to being exploited, there has been a flurry of activity towards breaking the software locks that surround them.

Now in a move, that is sure to escalate this war to a whole new level, Slysoft, a well known DVD authoring software firm has just introduced the world's first commercial product capable of defeating the AACS DRM that is prevalent on HD-DVD. According to feedback received on many AV enthusiast forums from the beta testers, this new software is able to reproduce any known HD DVD that is shipping right now. This will strike a major blow to movie studios and companies who have been backing the HD DVD technology as it was supposedly hack proof.

The software's features are:

— Removes encryption (AACS) from HD-DVDs.

—Watch movies over digital display connection, without HDCP compliant graphics card and HDCP compliant display.

—Playback of discs on the PC with PowerDVD Ultra, which otherwise do not run.

—Removes user prohibitions, you can select the language and subtitle track without going through the disc's menu.

—Removes parental restrictions.

—Allows you to remove or skip Studio Logos and warning messages.

—With "magic file replacement" you can remaster any commercial movie disc using simple XML scripts.

—The "must have" utility for the serious home theater enthusiast using a media center / home theater PC.

—Includes a UDF 2.5 file ripper, no need to install 3rd party UDF 2.5 filesystem under Windows XP.

The software is available for a cost of $79 and can be purchased online from Slysoft's site and just in case you are wondering as to why the MPAA is not already all over this software... it's because Slysoft is a company based out of Antigua in the West Indies. This means America's infamous DMCA law do not apply to it.
