MS Announces 16 Xbox360 Titles for India
By: Avinash Bali   |   Oct 24, 2006

Even though the Xbox360 has officially launched here, there's been no word on the titles that would be available with the console... until now that is.

Today, Microsoft announced that they're planning on launching nearly 16 titles for the Xbox360 in India and each of these games will be priced at Rs 2,510, which by the way is nearly 500 bucks more than what you pay in the grey market. If MS wanted to push their console shouldn't they have priced these games at maybe Rs 1800 or so, which is a lot more affordable; I mean if you buy ten games, you've nearly bought yourself a brand new console. And to make matters worse, most of the titles announced border between mediocre and crappy. Judge for yourself:

  • Top Spin 2
  • Rockstar Games Presents Table Tennis
  • Dead or Alive 4
  • Need for Speed Most Wanted
  • Prey

Here's what Mohit Anand, country manager, Microsoft had to say, "We are delighted to bring our new games portfolio to the Indian market, since Xbox360 experience is all about the gaming content. The Indian gamers today are ready for the various genres of games across racing, sports, action and adventure. We promise to keep Xbox 360 gamers high-spirited and would be shortly launching about 14 more games in the months to come."

If mohit anand knew the g of gaming, he'd be much better at his job of pushing ms gaming products in india. He is just a guy, who's been pushing cd's and now is the gaming head. Bah!

The games are too expensive to buy the original ones..... Grey market will do its share of damage !

I guess guys you'll should just go to www.Ebay.Com and buy the new xbox 360 games from there. There are tons of them available and they are better than the games mentioned above.

I have an old xbox, which i bought in uk sometime in dec 2004. Within one year the dvd drive of the xbox stopped opening up, and since then it is lying useless at my home here in bangalore. Now that the xbox is formally launched in india, are there any service centers which have been opened for the purpose? It will be good if someone can send me the details by email.

What on earth are these ppl bragging about!!!! I mean for god's sake it's been officially launched for a month and the only games they have are the crappiest to say the least. They just ship off the worst games of the year to india and just sit there and pretend as if eveything is fine. They have lied to the general public and it pisses me off to hear this mohit guy complimenting ms for releasing great games and all..I mean look at the indian xbox site, it's been like this for months now and no updates at all. While south africa, where the xbox 360 was released a week later than india, gets all the updates and games on time..Sometimes even before european countries. This shows that ms is not commited to india as it claims it is and please stop talking and get us the games on time.
