Cooperative games are tons of fun to play as not only do they encourage team co-ordination with a friend, but the sheer act of kicking a game’s butt along with a friend is a blast to pull off. Sure there have been tons of awesome games that do offer co-op, but unless and until you have a high speed broadband connection you’re pretty much stuck with the single player game and that ladies and gentlemen, is what EA wants to change with Army of Two, a "cooperative tactical shooter" that’ll provide a co-op experience even if you’re playing the game by yourself.
As far as the story goes it’s your highly clichéd action move fare; you have two mercenaries, Tyson Rios and Elliot Salem traveling the globe, fighting terrorism and all that. Only difference here is that these guys belong to the Private Military Corporation which basically means they don’t play by the rules, are better funded than your regular army and aren’t accountable to anyone so they have the liberty to take destruction and mayhem to a whole new level.
As and when you’ll sit down to play Amy of Two by yourself, you’ll take control of one of the above mentioned protagonists while the other one will be controlled by the game’s Partner Artificial Intelligence (PAI). This particular attribute is what will be able to distinguish this title from other co-op games in the market as it’ll make you feel like you’re playing the game with a friend rather than a computer controlled ally. The PAI driven teammate will have a memory of sorts so if you screwed up in the past, he’ll probably bring that up the next time you give him an order and may even refuse to co-operate; in fact, if you piss him off a lot he may even show you the finger (not the thumb), abuse you and/or point his weapon at you.
