There's nothing more empowering than holding the reins of a colossal dragon, while you order him to bath your enemies in flames. That's right. Fear me. For I have a dragon and I'm not afraid to use it! We at Tech 2 got a chance to lay our greasy hands on an early build of Lair (courtesy of Milestone Interactive), which contained one complete level from the game, along with a tutorial mission. So let's not make you wait any longer; here's what we think about the game...
Let's get the game's background out of the way first—Lair puts you in the steel boots of a dragon riding knight named Rohn, who's part of a secret society aptly named "The Burners". As Rohn, your role is to fight 'the Mokai', who've waged open war against your people 'The Asylians'. To do just that, you've got a stalwart dragon between your legs (errmm... that doesn't sound too right, does it?), that you can control using the PlayStation 3's SIXAXIS technology. In other words, the PS3's controller detects motion, allowing you to control the dragon's flight. Don't worry though, the game won't require you to flail the controller around like a retard, and nor will it need you to flap your hands like wings. The controlling scheme of the game is a bit more subtle; but is it really effective, or is it just a fad?
