As expected, the phone supports Bluetooth 2.0 and GPRS/EDGE connectivity. You can also use the preinstalled Opera mini for browsing, and its works quite well too. One very useful feature of this phone is the HSCSD (High-Speed Circuit-Switched Data), which means it provides for about 50 percent improvement in throughput. So you can access the Internet via your GSM network at considerably higher data rates. You can also update the firmware wirelessly using FOTA -- firmware update over the air.
It has an internal memory of 7.8 Mb (should have been more in my opinion) and a 2GB microSD card extendable slot. You get 1000 photo entries, and if you run out of space you can sync your contacts and messages on the memory card.
Battery
The 6300 runs on the 760 mAh Li-Ion battery, which is quite good, considering it has all the battery-sapping features (flash, mainly) diced. I got about 3 hrs of music and about 2 hr on calls. I have to say I’m quite impressed with the battery life of the 6300. After using it for it for nearly 2 days doing all sorts of things imaginable, all with a single charge, I was still able to scramble through exactly 5 minutes of conversation (trust me, it was a life saver).
Conclusion
I like the sturdy yet elegant look. Sadly the phone has nothing new to offer, quite justifiable, for the middle-class section of the society. It has a decent camera, something that most users will appreciate. Also as I’ve mentioned before, it does have style. You will not be able to install and run too many third party applications, for which there are other phones in the market. If you are looking for a phone that looks good, your search should end here. Priced at Rs 12,500, I say it is a worthy buy.
